See the affected areas: ECG announces planned maintenance works

ECG Shuts Down Somanya Office Over Safety Concerns

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced planned maintenance work in Tema to improve service delivery. 

The maintenance is scheduled for Sunday, March 2, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Affected areas in the Tema Region include Star Steel, Dawhenya Township, Abbey Kope, Adotey, Miotso, Ghanaman Soccer Academy, Abia, Prampram, Kpoi Ete, Central University, Ososhie, P.S. Global, Devtraco, Methodist Junction, and surrounding areas.

In a statement, ECG apologized for any inconvenience this maintenance work may cause to residents and businesses in these areas.

In a separate update, the ECG also addressed ongoing outages in the Ashanti West Region. These outages are the result of a cable fault at Abuakwa Maakro, near the ECG Abuakwa District Office.

Affected areas are Abuakwa Maakro, Asonomaso, Manhyia, Koforidua, Akrpong Junction, and surrounding areas.

Additionally, the ECG reported a similar outage in the Accra East Region due to an underground cable fault at Ogbojo.

Affected areas include Ogbojo Asafoatse, Otienshie, Ability, Dzen Ayor, Rev. Owusu Bempah area, Galaxy International School area, and Twumasewaa Hospital area.

“ECG wishes to assure affected customers that our engineers are working to rectify the faults and restore supply. We regret the inconvenience caused to our valued customers,” the statement read.
