This was contained in the 2021 edition of its annual ‘Ghana Public Safety and Crime Report.’

Data in the report indicated that associated deaths also went up by 53.7%, representing a record jump from the previous report.

The report also found that the Ashanti Region topped the chart for the region with the most number of crime incidents for the year under review.

Mr Samuel Appiah Security Analyst in an interview with Bohyeba Afriyie on plan B Fm’s Ebanoosen stated that the first Quarter of this year has proven that the police has invested extra energy to stop violent crimes in the country but there’s more room for improvement.

Assessing the Crime rate so far in this year he said that snatching of vehicles because of the CCTV’s has decreased, Robbery cases has decreased, the number Rape cases has also decreased.

He added from intelligence submitted to them by the police in a slight way high way robbery is on a rise again but he is very sure the police is working to curb that as well.

He concluded that with the kind of effort, if the police ends the year with same energy it’s likely we will record few cases in the country.
