Parents in shock after principal of a prestigious Catholic school is charged with sex crimes. The headmaster of Loyola College, a Catholic secondary school, has been sacked for alleged sex offences.
He had gone on leave from the school weeks earlier and the acting principal told the school community that he was occupied with a personal matter. Joseph Favre, a 67-year-old school Principal at a coeducational catholic school has been charged by 40 parents for sleeping with their under age girls. Joseph was accused of sleeping with school teenagers and some other parents he finds attractive.
The man has been charged by Mernda sexual offences and child abuse team detectives with two counts of sexual activity directed at a person and one charge of sexual exposure,’ police said.
A lawyer for Loyola College principal Joseph Favrin says his client strongly denies allegations of sexual offences. There is no assertion that this allegation happened at a school. Favrin is due to appear at Heidelberg Magistrates Court on September 13.
