The Queen mother of Adjamesu who doubles as Adontehemaa of Essumeja Traditional Council in the Ashanti Region, Nana Kwakyewaa Obimpeh narrowly escaped an attempted murder.
According to Sanfi Police who confirmed the attempted assassination of the traditional ruler, some unknown persons fired indiscriminately into her residence on the dawn of Monday, June 24, 2024
Mr. Prince Owusu, Assemblyman for Adjamesu Electoral Area who in the company of a distraught Queen mother lodged an official complaint with the police, indicated that at about 12:30 am, an unknown person shot into her bedroom through the back window while the victim was asleep.
The reverberating sound of the gunshot woke her up, and she found pellets on her bed.
She raised an alarm, but unfortunately, the perpetrator had bolted.
Police upon receipt of the complaint, deployed some investigators to the scene and they found pellets on the bed of the complainant.
The police are appealing to informants to help them apprehend the perpetrators.
