Prophet Gyimah: Parliament doesn’t need pastors to pass anti-LGBTQ bill
Prophet Isaac Ofosuhene Gyimah, founder and leader of the Captain Jesus Prayer House, has expressed surprise over the Speaker of Parliament’s recent appeal for the clergy to rally behind the passage of the anti-LGBTQ bill.
Speaking on Nkosuo Nsem, the outspoken prophet questioned why Parliament would require the support of pastors before passing a law it considers necessary for the country.
According to him, the role of the clergy in the national discourse has already been clear and consistent, as many religious leaders have openly declared their stance against LGBTQ activities in Ghana.
“I’m surprised the Speaker of Parliament says we the clergy should rally support for them to be able to pass the anti-LGBTQ bill, because if a country wants to pass a law, they don’t need pastors. I don’t know the kind of support they want because we have said almost everything. Our country doesn’t need this act of LGBTQ,” Prophet Gyimah stated.
He emphasized that Ghanaian cultural and religious values do not align with LGBTQ practices and urged Parliament to act decisively without shifting responsibility onto religious leaders
