Procurement Officer In Trouble Over GH¢17,000 Of Electronic Gadgets

Procurement Officer In Trouble Over GH¢17,000 Of Electronic Gadgets
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Daniel Kisi, a Procurement Officer with Links Company, a warehouse company, has found himself in the grips of the law after he failed to deliver over GH¢17,000 worth of goods belonging to Links Warehousing. Daniel, the nephew to the CEO of Links Warehousing Company, managed to convince his uncle of having the technical know-how in delivering the kind of goods the company needed. With the assurance of being the nephew to the CEO of the company, the Chief Accountant signed a check of over GH¢17,000 on March 2021 for Daniel to purchase the items; a set of electronics the company needed in facilitating their works.

Daniel with his pre-financed deal was to get the products for the company at a cost benefiting the company after he proved his competency of handling the job. With over two hundred laptops, sixty printers and scanners, Daniel took the money intending to go bring the items but went into hiding after receiving cashing the money from the bank. For over four months, Daniel kept evading work with the assumption of being sick and was going to provide everything after his recovery.

Daniel with protection from his mother, Agnes Bonsu, the sister to Francis Bonsu, the CEO of Links Warehousing Company, Daniel kept himself in hiding until this morning, when the CEO of the company, Francis Bonsu directed his accountant to arrest Daniel after the police of Dunkwa confirmed Daniel’s hideout. Acting on behalf of the company, Sampson Agyei, the Accountant of Links Warehousing Company, sneaked on Daniel in his hideout at Dunkwa and arrested him.

With over 200 laptops and 60 scanners and printers, Daniel was able to provide Zero laptops and Nine Scanners and printers. Out of the 260 items costing GH¢17,869.86, Daniel during his arrest was only to surrender Nine items out of the 260 with an excuse that, the nine items are worth GH¢16,900 and that made him unable to provide the rest due to an increment in market prices.

Daniel has been pushed into the Dunkwa Police cells with a possible court arrangement on Monday morning. The Accountant Sampson Agyei acting on behalf of the company stated the company’s willingness to see Daniel prosecuted for his crimes despite his direct ties to the company’s CEO. With a wholesale price, we do not believe these nine items can even cost GH¢2000 the accountant Sampson, said in affirming his decision to see Daniel refund every penny to the company or go to jail.

The CEO of Links Warehousing Company, Francis Bonsu, denied comments on the case that, the police will resolve everything between his company and the arrestee. Francis Bonsu, the uncle of Daniel Kisi, the arrestee, denied linking himself as a direct family to Daniel on the excuse that, there are no family issues with the Police and the case will not be removed from the police to the family as the mother of Daniel, Agnes Bonsu had been pleading with other family members.

He is my brother, I’m the elder one and he is the younger and he is doing this to me. Is not nice Kojo, is not nice. Remember how I natured and feed you when we were growing up. How I carried you at my back, Kojo remember these oooh, Agnes, the mother of Daniel and sister of the CEO cried as Francis affirmed his decision through his accountant to prosecute the case.

Daniel has been denied bail and will spend the night and weekends at the Dunkwa police station.
