The Member of Parliament for Builsa South Dr. Clement Apaak has revealed that the Majority in Parliament has gone to apologize to the Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin for their “
disrespect” against him.
The lawmaker says the Majority apologized for their attack on the Speaker and have pleaded for forgiveness.
He further alleges that the Majority and its leadership pleaded that the Speaker helps them to pass the E-Levy.
According to him, the Speaker told them to use the same platform they used to denigrate him to apologize.
The MP said it was not just MPs, but a delegation that had some in the leadership in Parliament, some big party people, and some from the Jubilee House.
Dr. Apaak wondered why the Majority and its leadership, as well as party persons, would attack the Speaker and go behind closed doors to apologize.
the fracas that ensued in parliament over the E-Levy approval.
The Speaker is his response said :“I am not a Speaker for any political party not even my party, NDC. I am a Speaker for Ghana and that’s how it will be under my reign”, Mr Bagbin was reported to have told them.
” Those people did not only attack me but our democracy and one of the most important democratic institutions in the country which I represent”.
