President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Presidential Candidate, New Patriotic Party (NPP), Monday cast his ballot for the 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections, beaming with confident of securing victory.

Accompanied by his wife, Rebecca, the President arrived at the Rock of Ages Polling Centre at Kyebi New Town in the Abuakwa South Constituency in the Eastern Region to a rousing welcome from supporters, went through the process of observing the COVID-19 safety protocols before he cast both the presidential and Parliamentary ballots at exactly 1015 hours.

In brief remarks after casting his ballot, the President, resplendent in a white long-sleeved shirt, told the media that reports he had received so far of the electoral process pointed to a fluid and peaceful process, and was hopeful that the contest would progress without hitches.

He urged all eligible Ghanaians to turn up in their numbers and exercise their franchise in a peaceful manner to consolidate the democratic gains the country had made since 1992.

The President, who was optimistic of securing victory at the polls to govern the country for another term, said the work that his administration had done in the last four years would retain him in power.

17 million Ghanaians are expected to vote at 38,622 polling stations nationwide to elect a president and 275 legislators to run the affairs of the country for the next four years.
