Kwesi Pratt expresses fear over Ghana’s IMF Deal

Editor of the Insight Newspaper Kwesi Prat Jnr has chastised the President for sending what he described as a “problematic” campaign message to Assin North.
He says the “terrible” message delivered at the constituency is tantamount to voting against his candidate, Charles Opoku.

“If the President goes to the constituency to say that look, if you vote for this person he will go to jail, which implies that there will be another by-election. We are living in an era where everybody is looking for by-election, it is only through by-election that we get access to cars and roads repaired. So, when the President goes to the constituency telling the people that there will be another by election, I am sitting there amazed”

Kwesi Pratt Jnr says the lessons people in power taught Ghanaians is, by-elections bring about “faster development, respected rights, improved living conditions and some cedis in the pocket.”

James Gyakye Quayson of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) won the Assin North by-election held on Tuesday 27th June, 2023.
