President John Dramani Mahama will embark on a nationwide Thank You Tour starting this Friday, January 24, with the first stop in the Volta Region.

This tour is part of the President’s commitment to express gratitude to the people of Ghana for their unwavering support and trust in him during the 2024 general elections.

According to a statement issued by the Presidency and signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Acting Spokesperson to the President, the tour will not only serve as a platform for expressing appreciation but also as an opportunity to deepen the connection between the President and the citizens of Ghana.

The Volta Region, a key stronghold of support during the elections, has been chosen as the starting point for this nationwide tour, setting the tone for what is expected to be an impactful journey.

The highlight of the Volta Region event will be a grand durbar, bringing together a diverse assembly of stakeholders and community leaders. Chiefs, queen mothers, opinion leaders, religious leaders, representatives from labour unions, and prominent figures from the informal sector are all expected to participate.

This colourful and unifying event aims to showcase the collective strength and diversity of the region while celebrating the critical role citizens have played in Ghana’s democratic and developmental journey.

The tour comes at a time when President Mahama’s leadership is being widely lauded for its decisive and progressive actions.

Within just two weeks of assuming office, President Mahama set a historic precedent by becoming the first Ghanaian leader to announce a full cabinet, signalling his readiness to deliver on campaign promises.

In the statement, the President’s Spokesperson also extended an invitation to all Ghanaians to participate in the Thank You Tour with pride and enthusiasm.

He described it as a special moment for the nation to come together and celebrate its collective achievements while reaffirming its commitment to unity and development.

Below is the statement.
