The Jubilee House between January and September 2022 spent a total of GH¢15 million on the replacement of tyres and batteries of vehicles in its pool.

This was revealed by the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa after analysing documents on expenditure provided to Parliament by the Presidency.

The Presidency also spent a colossal sum of GH₵51,109,137.86 on fuel during the 9-month period. President Akufo-Addo’s regional tours during that period also cost the taxpayer GH₵16,906,272.45 million.

Mr Ablakwa in a post on Facebook slammed the government for making a mockery of cost-cutting measures announced by the Finance Minister to save the economy.

“Instructively, the 10-item expenditure summary above which amounts to a massive GHS191,522,061.68 represents a tiny sample selection from more than 250 expenditure items contained in the Expenditure Documents currently under parliamentary scrutiny.”
