Politics I Was Subjected To Lie Detector test at NSB under Akufo-Addo’s Gov’t – Eric Adjei

Politics I Was Subjected To Lie Detector test at NSB under Akufo-Addo’s Gov’t – Eric Adjei

The Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Eric Adjei, has disclosed that he was subjected to a lie detector test during the tenure of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

According to him, the test was carried out by the National Signals Bureau (NSB), an intelligence agency under the Office of the President.

Speaking on Adom TV’s Badwam, Mr. Adjei said the exercise was part of an interrogation process after he was accused of activities he knew nothing about.

“They said they were taking me to check if I was lying. I didn’t understand what they meant until I got to the National Signals Bureau and was put on a lie detector. They said it would monitor my brainwaves to determine if I was telling the truth,” he revealed.

Mr. Adjei used the revelation to accuse the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of double standards, stressing that similar actions took place under Akufo-Addo’s government, though quietly.

“Today, when former officials are being invited or arrested over alleged corruption or misuse of public funds, some NPP members are crying foul. But under their own government, people like me were taken through the most rigorous and intimidating processes, including lie detector tests,” he stated.

He further alleged that some appointees of the former government currently facing investigations have entered into plea bargaining deals with the Attorney General’s Department.

“I know for a fact that some former government officials are negotiating behind the scenes. They prefer to refund the monies rather than go to court. Yet, these are the same people pointing fingers at the current administration for cracking down on corruption,” he added.

The NDC government has come under criticism from the opposition for what they describe as politically motivated arrests of former government officials.
