Political Financiers And Stock Brokers Are Mostly Importers Influencing continuous Importation In past And Present Governments – Economist
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter
Mr Alex Emmanuel an Economist has said the continuous importation of foreign farm products into the country is a result of politicians’ that seek financial support from businessmen and women in the country when seeking power from the citizens and can’t control the negative impacts importation brings on local businesses and economy at large.
Speaking to Ohene Addo on NKOSUONSEM on Plan B Fm on 28th July 2022, the economist stressed that past and present administrations have failed to protect local businesses,
” a political reality is that political financiers who are mostly importers and stock brokers influencing the continuing importation focus of governments who come and go they control the government and have a say in decision making” he added.
In reaction to a tweet from the Russian embassy’s Twitter handle that Russia can not be blamed for the soaring prices of food in the country
“I don’t know his knowledge of economic issues but Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is affecting every country in the world because the supply of oil (fuel) has dropped making the demand high the demand is high prices automatically increase and it affects the government budget hence the hardship, what I want the ambassador to understand is where do we get our flour from, United States of America had a shortage of flour due to the war in Ukraine “
“Ghana as a developing country we can’t do all need support from other developed countries, not financial support but importing more of other commodities. the ambassador should talk about the ripple effect of the war, “is it not the war in Ukraine that has been attributed to the high price of fuel? then this man should be respectfully and humbly I want to say he has not been fair to Ghana’s economy and the citizens in the country”, He stressed,
