Political Analyst Advises NDC to market a new Flagbearer for Election 2028 and Beyond

Political Analyst Advises NDC to market a new Flagbearer for Election 2028 and Beyond

Political Analyst, Dr. Osei Bonu has suggested that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) must work towards marketing a new Flagbearer for Election 2028 and beyond.

He believes former President Mahama, is the best bet for the party in the 2024 elections but also advised them to re-examine their product for the electoral market and present a new product for future elections.

Former President John Dramani Mahama will be in the Ashanti Region from Sunday, September 12 as part of his Thank You tour of the country and ahead of that, A group calling itself the Ashanti NDC Youth has slammed John Mahama over what they describe as his neglect of the Ashanti region during his time as President.

In a statement signed by convener Kweku Asare Mensah, the group noted that Mahama failed to appoint a single person from the region as a Minister during his tenure. According to them, the former President should not count on their support, should he decide to seek re-election as the party’s flagbearer.

Reacting to this on, Plan B FM ‘Nkosuo Nsem’ with Ohene Addo, Dr. Osei Bonsu, said the NDC must look at the bigger picture for the general interest of the party.

“I was expecting John Mahama in the lead up to election 2020 to have nominated a younger person to be his running mate, whether he wins or not. That person would have been popular by the time they head into election 2024. For now, John Mahama is the most popular candidate among his members; I think he is their best bet for election 2024. But if they are thinking beyond election 2024, then I don’t think he is the right candidate for them” he saidTop of Form
