The Ghana Police Service has launched a manhunt for suspect Fatau Motorway, who is wanted in connection with a recent clash between supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

In a statement issued on Monday, October 21, 2024, the police appealed to the public for assistance to apprehend the suspect.

It also announced a reward for anyone with information leading to his arrest.

“The police are appealing to the public to support Police intelligence-led efforts by providing information that could lead to his arrest.

“A reward of Twenty Thousand Cedis (GH₵20,000.00) is being offered for anyone who provides credible information leading to his arrest,” it stated.

On October 13, 2024, a routine political campaign walk at Mamobi in Accra turned violent when a group of motorbike riders from the NDC side confronted NPP supporters, leading to a verbal altercation that quickly turned physical.

Two people were allegedly shot, with four others sustaining injuries.

The police swiftly intervened by deploying the Regional Police Command to contain the situation and prevent further violence.
