Police Officer Found Dead At Home With Gunshot Wound

The Police have begun investigations into the death of one of its officers at Abeka Lapaz in Accra.

The deceased, Abdul Rashid, of the Police Headquarters Counter Terrorism Directorate, was found dead with a gunshot wound at his residence at Abeka Lapaz.

The incident is said to have occurred on Sunday, July 19.

A statement from the Ghana Police Service said the sister of the deceased, Shakira Nasir, 21, is in police custody assisting with investigations.

It added that the pistol, which is believed to have been used is also in police custody.
