Police arrest man in Central Region shooting incident

The Ghana Police Service on Tuesday 3rd September 2024, arrested one person in connection with a shooting incident at Bereku in the Central Region.

The suspect, Nai Akwasi Lartey, who was wielding a pump action gun shot and injured one person during the Awubia Festival. The victim was sent to the hospital for medical attention.

According to a statement by the police, the firearm that was used has been seized.

“The pump action gun with some BB cartridges have been retrieved from the suspect.

Suspect Nai Akwasi Lartey is in Police custody assisting the investigation,” the statement said.
