Popular Ghanaian comedian, Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng alias Funny Face, has been arrested by the Ghana Police Service for allegedly threatening to kill the mother of his twin daughters.

The Ghana Police Service took to its social media platforms to announce that it arrested the comedian yesterday, Monday, October 18, 2021.

The police in explaining the reason for the arrest of Funny Face, noted that he was arrested for allegedly threatening some individuals via social media.

Earlier, the popular comedian, in a video that has gone viral, is heard hurling insults at certain individuals and threatened to kill the mother of his children for allegedly using the kids to extort money from him at various times. He added that he was prepared to commit suicide if he succeeds in killing her.

The police post headlined “Funny Face in police custody for allegedly threatening some individuals,” went ahead to say that he was arrested on Monday, October 18, 2021 T 10:14 pm.

The Police continued that Funny Face will put before a law court for an order for psychiatric examination.

The post continued that, this has become necessary to aid the service to determine the line of investigation.

“Due to the history of the suspect, the police shall submit Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng to the court for an order for psychiatric examination, to determine the next line of investigative action,” part of the post from the police read.

“The police are committed to protecting lives with the generous help of the public. We want to assure the public that we shall not take anything for granted in the interest of public safety,” the post concluded.
