The Ghana Education Service( GES) on Sunday, 28 February, 2021 disclosed that 39,163 candidates who sat for the 2020 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) failed to gain placement into Senior High school.
According to the GES out of the total 533693 registered candidate, 494530 candidates qualified to be placed under the 2020 computerized school selective and placement system ( CSPS).
It was also pointed out that a total of 343,264 have automatically been placed in one of the choices of the candidate.
However 151266 qualified candidate could not be matched with any of their choices.
All such students according to GES are therefore to do self placement to select from available school.
This was made known in a statement announcing the release of the 2020 school placement.
“The Ghana Education Service announces to parent, students and the general public that the 2020 computerized school selection and placement system (CSPS) into Senior High schools and Technical and Vocational Educational and Training schools( TVETS) will go live on Sunday, 28 February,2021” ,the statement read.
Concluding the statement the Ghana Education Service assured all students, especially those who could not be matched with their choices during the automatic placement that all schools with vacancies have been uploaded in the portal for students to select from during self placement.
