The Central East Police Command has arrested more than 100 persons during a dawn swoop, yesterday, Monday 1, 2021.
The suspects are currently in police custody helping with investigations into various alleged crimes.
According to the police, the suspects were arrested at SMA arena pub on the Gomoa Nyanyano stretch and added that their arrest was in line with curbing criminal activities within the area especially around the Kasoa area.
Confirming the swoop, the Central East Divisional Commander, DCOP Okyere Boapeah, noted that the suspects include both foreign nationals and some Ghanaians. The Commander continued that the arrest followed an Intel the police gathered on Friday, October 29, 2021.
According to the Commander, the initial screening of the suspects revealed that they have been involved in various forms of criminal activities like narcotics and engaging commercial sex activities.
Explaining further, the Deputy Central East police commander ACP Oduro stated that the persons arrested will be screened further and if found guilty of any of the suspected crime, will be made to face the law.
The Central East Police Command was recently created as a police region to aid in the fight against crime and is poised to fulfil the purpose for which it was established.
