The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has disclosed that it is investigating 16 Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) suspected of diverting marine gas oil and gas oil products lifted in 2023 and 2024.
The disclosure was contained in the OSP’s 2025 Half-Yearly Report, issued in December 2025 and signed by the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng.
According to the report, the investigations relate to suspected corruption and corruption-related offences arising from the alleged diversion of petroleum products that were officially lifted during the period under review.
The companies under investigation are:
1. Big Energy
2. Energetic Petroleum
3. Goodness Energy
4. Jet Petroleum
5. Kabore Oil
6. La Clem Ghana
7. Maxx Energy
8. Moari Oil Company
9. N3
10. Naagamni Ghana Ltd.
11. Onxyma Company
12. Petro Sankofa
13. Plus Energy
14. Quantum Petroleum
15. Sotei Energy
16. West Port Petroleum
The report further disclosed that the OSP is investigating a separate case involving the suspected diversion of condensate products lifted from the Ghana Gas Plant at Atuabo in 2024. The condensate was intended for delivery to the Tema Oil Refinery.
The investigation involves Maranatha Oil Services, which is suspected of having diverted the products using five vehicles registered to R.B.A. Goodness Enterprise.
The OSP said the investigations form part of its ongoing efforts to combat corruption and protect state resources within the petroleum and energy sector.
