Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has responded to the ongoing court case involving former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman, Freddie Blay. In a recent Facebook post, Ablakwa expressed his surprise at Blay’s claim that he was unable to locate him and broadcast journalist, Johnnie Hughes, to serve them with court documents, thus necessitating an order for substituted service.

Ablakwa wrote, “Folks, apparently Freddie Blay claims he couldn’t find Johnnie Hughes and I to serve us with his court processes so he returned to court to obtain an order for substituted service. I didn’t know I am that difficult to locate.”

The North Tongu MP further noted that it was unusual for a seasoned politician like Blay, a former Member of Parliament and Deputy Speaker of Parliament, to assert that he could not find an MP. He emphasized that he was readily available and that the legal proceedings did not concern him, as he had instructed his lawyers to respond appropriately.

Ablakwa assured his supporters that he was fully prepared to appear in court whenever necessary. He said, “I have gladly instructed my lawyers to respond accordingly and to further inform the court that I am more than ready to personally appear in court at all times.”

The case centers around a dispute involving Labadi Beach Hotel’s beachfront property, which Ablakwa has been outspoken about. He has consistently called for the reclamation of the property, which he claims has been wrongfully taken from the public. Ablakwa reiterated his commitment to fighting what he termed “State Capture” and expressed confidence that justice would prevail.

“We shall not be intimidated, and absolutely nothing will stop us from reclaiming the beachfront of our Labadi Beach Hotel. The battle against State Capture continues unabated. I can’t wait for the showdown in court,” he declared.

Ablakwa ended his post with enthusiasm for his ongoing campaign, which he dubbed “Operation-Recover-All-Loot” (ORAL), vowing to fight for Ghana’s best interests. He closed with the statement, “For God and Country. Ghana First.”
