The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has contained a fire involving two fuel tankers at the Kaase Angola Tanker Yard, opposite Latex Foam Company in Kumasi, with one tanker completely destroyed.
The incident occurred on Saturday, October 10, 2026, prompting a response from firefighters in the Ashanti Region.
According to the GNFS, firefighters deployed three fire pumps to combat the blaze, bringing it under control at 8:04 p.m. and completely extinguishing it at 8:36 p.m.
One of the tankers, with registration number AS-1121-10, was completely burnt, while the second tanker, registered GT-5022-B, sustained partial damage.
The Service confirmed that no casualties were recorded in the incident.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
In a statement issued on Monday, October 12, 2026, the GNFS said the operation successfully contained the fire, preventing further damage to the affected vehicles.
The statement was issued by the Public Relations Officer for the Ashanti Region.
