Okyenhene, His Royal Majesty Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin, has appointed Bafour Ohemeng Gyamera, the Krontihene of Kukurantumi an acting chief (regent) for Akyem Kukurantumi following the prolonged absence of the substantive chief Daasebre Boamah Darko II

In an official Statement signed by the Akyem Abuakwa State Secretary, D.M. Ofori-Atta,the appointment takes immediate effect.

The appointment, according to the statement, has become necessary due to the continuous absence of the Chief of Kukurantumi and Adontenhene of Akyem Abuakwa, Daasebre Boama Darko, whose whereabouts remain unclear.

As Regent, Bafour Ohemeng Gyamera is expected to oversee the customary administration of Kukurantumi, handle all matters relating to the Kukurantumi Stool, and ensure peace and stability within the traditional area.

He is also to work in close consultation with the stool elders and report directly to Daasebre Adusei Peasah IV, the Tafohene.

The Okyenhene, in the statement, expressed confidence in the newly appointed regent’s ability to discharge his duties diligently and maintain harmony in the community during the period of the chief’s absence.

The development has deepened rumour about alleged demise of Chief of Kukurantumi who is also a member of the council of state.
