A commercial motorbike rider, Emmanuel, popularly known as Suro Obaa, narrowly escaped death after enduring a brutal machete attack on the night of June 20, 2025, in Boinso. The incident, which occurred between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. as Emmanuel was returning home from work, has led to an arrest and unearthed unsettling claims within the community.

According to eyewitnesses and preliminary police reports detailed in an adomonline.com report on June 21, 2025, the ambush took place on a notorious stretch of rough road in Boinso, where motorcyclists are often forced to reduce their speed due to poor conditions. While cautiously navigating this area, Emmanuel was suddenly attacked by an assailant wielding a machete.

He sustained multiple deep cuts to his head and neck, bleeding profusely. His life was saved by the timely arrival of another motorbike rider, whose presence startled the attacker and forced him to flee the scene.

Despite his critical condition, Emmanuel managed to identify his alleged assailant as Abu, also known by the nickname Subzero, a fellow okada rider in the community. Emmanuel further aided police by describing a distinct Barcelona football jersey worn by Abu during the assault, an outfit later confirmed by police to be on the suspect at the time of his arrest.

Emmanuel is currently undergoing emergency surgery at the Samartex Hospital in Samreboi, near Enchi, battling his severe injuries.

The suspect, Abu, is in custody at the Enchi Municipal Police Station as investigations continue. While police have yet to confirm any charges beyond the assault, the incident has fueled chilling allegations from some community members. They claim that the suspect may be linked to a local syndicate believed to be involved in the illicit trade of human body parts. These disturbing allegations are reportedly connected to a string of unexplained disappearances involving strangers who had boarded commercial motorbikes in the area.

Law enforcement authorities have assured the public that thorough investigations are underway to uncover the true motive behind this brutal attack and to assess the credibility of the community’s gravely concerning claims. The community of Boinso now awaits answers as the police delve deeper into the incident and the dark rumors surrounding it.
