Obiri Buahen Sweet Talks NDP, Calls For Political Alliance

Deputy general secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Obiri Buanhen insists that the National Democratic Party (NDP) is a formidable player in Ghana’s democratic  process and should not be underestimated.

Speaking to Plan B FM reporters at the 3rd national delegates congress of the NDP in Accra, Mr Buahen highlighted the role of the NDP’s presidential candidate, Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings, in Ghana’s national political narrative and affirmed that the former First Lady has earned her right to contest for the highest office of the land.

He asserted that the NDP flagbearer “is a very strong character in politics in this country” and is worthy of her acclamation as presidential candidate.

He however, beckoned to the leadership of the party to be warmly receptive to the idea of partnering with the New Patriotic Party for victory at the December polls.

“The NDP is a formidable political party and since the NPP is poised for victory, they should join us form a political alliance. Am soliciting their assistance”, he pressed.

Mr. Buahen also affirmed that, the framework for political relevance was clearly evident in the general organization of the NDP and that an unquestionable sense of political zeal had characterized their National Delegates Congress.
