The Ministry of Health has announced the temporary closure of the Nursing Training College, Techiman Krobo, following reported unrest and a breakdown of rules and regulations at the institution.
According to a statement signed by Tony Goodman, Head of Health Training Institutions, the decision was taken after several engagements, including meetings, counselling sessions, and appeals from stakeholders such as the Regional Security Council, failed to restore calm and order on campus.
The Ministry said some students continued to engage in activities that disrupted academic work and threatened the peace, safety, and effective administration of the college.
The temporary closure, it said, is aimed at restoring calm, protecting lives and property, and allowing authorities to assess the situation before determining the conditions necessary for reopening the institution.
All students have been directed to vacate the campus peacefully and return to their respective homes by 5:00 PM on Wednesday, July 29, 2026. Parents and guardians have been advised to make arrangements for their wards.
The Ministry assured stakeholders that efforts are underway to resolve the matter and promised that further communication on the reopening of the college will be made through official channels.
It also appealed for the cooperation and understanding of students, parents, staff, and the general public as steps are taken to restore a safe and disciplined learning environment.
