Nsawam-Pokuase Road Flooded After Hours Of Downpour

Nsawam-Pokuase Road Flooded After Hours Of Downpour
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

A heavy downpour on Friday, September 12, left parts of the Nsawam–Pokuase highway flooded, disrupting traffic flow and leaving commuters stranded for several hours.

The rains, which lasted for hours, caused sections of the road to overflow, making it difficult for vehicles to move.

Several motorists were forced to park by the roadside, while others attempted to manoeuvre through the floodwaters at great risk.

Passengers waiting at bus stops along the route were left stranded, with many expressing frustration over the recurring flooding whenever there is heavy rainfall.

Some residents blamed the situation on poor drainage systems and unregulated construction along waterways, urging city authorities to take urgent action.

No casualties have been reported, but the incident once again underscores Accra’s vulnerability to flooding during the rainy season.
