A political analyst Alex Emmanuel Nti has stated that the New patriotic Party’s attempt by the national chairman Mr. Stephen Ayensu Ntim to reconcile with some supporters that have left the party or defected to other parties should be a win win affair or they should forget about it.
Speaking on Plan B FM’s late afternoon show EBAANOSEN hosted by Ohene Kinnah,Mr. Nti stressed that, most people in the NPP are very angry with the leadership because they believe that the party has failed Ghanaians and some of their supporters.
He noted that, some people in the party are enjoying life and those who have been neglected and left behind have also decided not to follow the party again because they have gained nothing good from NPP, hence they will not die for the party.
He further expressed that the current economic hardship is also a factor, because some people believed that if the NPP administration couldn’t put money into their pockets, prices of goods and services should have been low to ease the pressure in the system but nothing seems working and therefore if the chairman wants to bring back the defectors, the approach should be a win win else they will get a surprising shock in December 7,2024.
Meanwhile the Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Stephen Ayensu Ntim has expressed disappointment in the fact that the NPP has lost a number of its members due to internal wranglings.
According to him, he is not a happy person and will work at ensuring that such persons who have had to leave the party will be brought back to their folds in order not to spring up surprises during the 2024 election.
Stephen Ayensu Ntim was speaking to the media results of the Ejisu by-elections were announced.
“Personally as chairman of the party, I’m not happy. We should be able to bring them back to the party’s fold so that come December 7 we won’t be surprised. We should be able to carry the Ejisu seat with ease as against what we are seeing and that is my next focus. We don’t expect Aduomi to make overtures to us. So as the chairman of the party, I’m going to do that myself,” he said.
He indicated that it should not be difficult to be able to convince people who have left the political party because they have issues.
On what he and the party leadership are doing to ensure that their internal battles are won across the country he said “We have a reconciliation committee at every region and also at the national. So we will use this machinery bothering reconciliation and conflict resolution”.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) won the Ejisu seat with 27, 782 votes while their closest contender got 21, 534.
