NPP’s Owusu Bempah Warns Bawumia Camp Against Dirty Politics

Square Pegs, Sidelines, Infightings: Owusu-Bempah opens up about NPP’s ‘humiliating’ 2024 Election defeat

The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Deputy Director of Communications, Ernest Owusu Bempah, has spoken out following a petition lodged against him to the party’s National Council over alleged disciplinary breaches.

In an exclusive interview with Afia Pokua, popularly known as Vim Lady, on the Gyaso Gyaso programme, as monitored by MyNewsGh, Owusu Bempah expressed surprise at the move, insisting that the claims against him are baseless.

“I am honestly taken aback by the turn of events. These petitions against me have no basis,” he said.

Owusu Bempah attributed the petition to elements within Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s camp, suggesting that his steadfast support for the party has drawn undue criticism.

“My staunch support for the party is the reason for this adverse dislike. Certain elements from Bawumia’s camp are behind this petition,” he asserted.

He went on to praise the philosophy and leadership style of NPP MP Kennedy Agyapong, emphasizing the influence of a strong personality in restoring order within the party.

“I believe in Ken’s philosophy. His strong character and likable personality have endeared him to the masses.

“This is something my opponents cannot stand. That is why they resort to propaganda, trying to undermine him by claiming he is vituperative,” Bempah explained.

Despite the controversy, Owusu Bempah reiterated his unwavering support for Kennedy Agyapong.

“I have done wrong, but I have unwavering support for Ken. If Bawumia’s camp wants to play dirty, we will follow that trajectory. I won’t mind even if it compromises the integrity of the party,” he warned.
