NPP will remain in opposition for more than 12 years If they don’t admit and correct their misconducts
A renowned political analyst at the University of Mines, Emmanuel Alex Nti, has urged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to acknowledge and rectify the misconducts that led to their abysmal defeat in the 2024 general elections.
Speaking in an interview with Ohene Kinnah on Plan B FM’s Ebaanosen show on Wednesday, February 27, 2025, Alex Nti criticized the previous administration under former President Akufo-Addo, describing it as arrogant.
“The NPP will remain in opposition for more than 12 years if they refuse to admit and correct the misconducts that led to their abysmal defeat in the just-ended elections,” he stated.
Mr. Nti expressed disappointment in the public comments made by some leaders of the New Patriotic Party after the 2020 elections.
“The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as ‘Chairman Wontumi,’ boldly declared that he has his own kingdom, yet no national executive called him to order.
“Now, the Ashantis are above the NPP and the NDC. They have realized that their well-being should come before political parties,” he noted.
“I say again, the NPP will remain in opposition for 12 years if they do not admit that their misconducts led to their abysmal defeat in the 2024 election,” he reiterated.
Mr. Nti further criticized a comment made by the NPP’s 2024 Vice Presidential Candidate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, during his unveiling in Kumasi, describing it as unfortunate.
