The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has officially opened expressions of interest for members seeking to contest as its parliamentary candidates in the 2028 General Elections.

In a press release dated October 29, 2026, the party announced that interested members must complete an online application form at ppc.nppghana.org between Sunday, November 1, and Tuesday, November 10, 2026.

The party has set a non-refundable application fee of GH¢5,000 for each prospective candidate and indicated that all applicants will undergo vetting and screening to determine their eligibility.

The NPP also announced plans to organise capacity-building workshops for prospective parliamentary candidates across the Northern, Middle and Southern zones in December 2026. Details of the vetting schedule and workshop venues will be communicated through the party’s official channels.

The guidelines apply to all prospective candidates, including sitting NPP Members of Parliament, who are not exempt from the process.

The party further cautioned aspirants against beginning campaign activities following their declaration of intent, stressing that its earlier directive suspending all campaigning remains in force until official clearance is granted.

It warned that any breach of the directive would attract appropriate sanctions in accordance with the party’s constitution and regulations.

The NPP said the structured process is intended to promote fairness, transparency and equal opportunities for all contestants as it prepares to select candidates for the country’s 276 constituencies.

The party urged prospective aspirants to conduct themselves with discipline, decorum and mutual respect throughout the process, adding that its broader objective is to unite and strengthen the party ahead of the 2028 elections.
