NPP communicator fires Dickson Adomako Kissi over Speaker of Parliament‘s anti-LGBT comments

NPP communicator fires Dickson Adomako Kissi over Speaker of Parliament‘s anti-LGBT comments

A communication team member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), in the  Tema West Constituency Michael Bohyeba has hit back against Member of Parliament for Anyaa Sowutuom, Dickson Adomako Kissi over his criticism against speaker of parliament Alban Bagbin, for his pronouncement on the acceptance of LGBTQI+ activities in Ghana.

Alban  Bagbin, during his recent trip to the UK, said that Africa is not deterred by the veiled threats of withdrawal of investments and international aid and other stringent economic measures that have attended the continent’s effort at protecting its culture, values, and societal norms and to safeguard the future of its youth.

He was speaking at a meeting with the members of the British House of Lords and the House of Commons at Westminster in London

Reacting to the speakers statement, the lawmaker chides Alban Bagbin that his anti- LGBTQ pronouncement could have a toll on government’s revenue mobilising efforts.

He explained the issue of LGBTQI is becoming more of a “turf war” which might seriously affect Ghana’s economy if care is not taken.

But in a sharp rebuttal to the Member of Parliament, Michael Bohyeba called on him to come clean on his stance on LGBT activities in the country and stop attacking the speaker of Parliament.

”We shouldn’t entertain acts that frowns on the culture, norms and values of the country. The MP’s view doesn’t represent his constituents. We shouldn’t copy blindly the western culture. I agree totally with what the speaker said. LGBTQ has no place in Ghana” he told the host Nana Abrompah on Plan B FM ‘Nkosuo Nsem’
