NPP Communicator dares Attorney-General to prosecute Ken Ofori-Atta if evidence exists

NPP Communicator dares Attorney-General to prosecute Ken Ofori-Atta if evidence exists

Richard Aning, NPP Communicator for Tema Central, has challenged the Attorney-General to proceed to court with the case if there is sufficient evidence against former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta.

Speaking on Nkososem, a morning show on Plan B FM, Mr. Aning questioned what he described as ongoing public commentary surrounding the former minister, insisting that legal action — not public accusations — should determine guilt.

“If there is evidence, they should go to court and prosecute him,” he said, urging the Attorney-General to allow the judicial process to take its course under the laws of Ghana.

Mr. Aning further criticised what he described as attempts by members of the NDC government to shape public perception without pursuing formal legal proceedings. He argued that Ghanaians are discerning and would expect evidence-backed prosecution rather than political rhetoric.

He maintained that the rule of law must prevail, adding that if the state has substantial evidence, it should present it before the courts instead of engaging in what he termed a “public spectacle.”
