NPP Chairman Blames politicians for Ghana’s economic woes

NPP Chairman Blames politicians for Ghana’s economic woes

The  Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Tema West Constituency Kwasi Bosompem Poku has said Ghana’s current economic challenges can be attributed to what he described “hypocritical nature of politicians”

According to him, the modus operandi of successive governments especially the NDC and the NPP so far are clear indication that politicians have taken Ghanaians for a ride.

He cited current challenges bedeviling the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) as a clear example; he believes the two main political parties (NDC & NPP) have paid lip service to reviving the ‘ailing’ refinery when they are in government.

“I hate the hypocritical nature of politicians, Ghana’s problems is politicians. During Mahama’s era he promised to fix TOR but nothing was done” he spoke to Nana Yaw Abrompah on Plan B FM ‘Nkosuo Nsem’

He further accused the NDC and former President John Mahama of not having the moral right to criticize the NPP of neglecting and causing the collapse of TOR. He said they did worse during their time in government.

“Look at TOR in the era of Kuffuor, Atta Mils, Mahama and Nana Addo and tell me under which regime did TOR struggled the most. Kuffuor did a massive expansion work at TOR but I can’t say the same for the NDC government” he added

He also contended that, the NDC has no moral right to accuse the NPP of engaging in state capture and corruption. He said the NDC are worse off. He accused former President Mahama of selling Ghana’s Bauxite reserve to his brother Ibrahim Mahama.

The Constituency Chairman accused the NDC of busing over 900 people to register in the just ended Electoral Commission limited voter registration in the Tema West Constituency.
