“You have said words that are sufficient for us to hear and justifies your actions and shows the tasks that awaits you.”

grouped under the patriotic support movement, deemed, apolitical, the youths pledged to mobilize all and sundry to welcome the new transitional regime and give them absolute support in their endeavors.

“We recommend, that you consolidate, put in place measures to carry out your duties and not yield to any pressure from international bodies,” a representative read.

 The Committee also recommended that any Nigerien who works for foreign powers should have their passport confiscated their passports and ban them from travel.

Suspending foreign media that circulates hate speeches and propaganda, is also an option to consolidate national unity, they said.

The group also urged the junta to transfer to the army every weapon to fight against terrorists, create vigilante groups in all red zones to fight against terrorists, give Nigeriens the exact situation of those who died at the war front, send away all foreign leaders, engage with Mali and Burkina Faso to fight against terrorism. Work to ensure that all IDPs return to their homes, among others.

On July 26, 2023, Nigerien presidential guards seized power from President Mohamed Bazoum, citing corruption, poverty, and economic hardship.

The National Council for the Preservation of Fatherland, led by Tiani Abdouramane, has warned the ECOWAS that any attempt to send troops to Niger will lead to retaliation.
