NIEP CEO’s arrest: There are more corrupt and pressing issues to be dealt with than this – Special Prosecutor told

“Extend Period Of Investigations To Cover 2009 – 2015” – OSP Petitioned Over Auction Of Cars |

A group calling itself National Project Advocacy Group (NaPAG) has chastised the Special Prosecutor Mr. Kissi Agyabeng for arresting the Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu Nkansah on an allegation of vote buying.

Speaking to Mr. Ransford Yeboah the national president of National Project Advocacy Group (NaPAG on Plan B FM’s late afternoon show EBAANOSEN hosted by Ohene Kinnah, Mr. Yeboah confirmed that the National Project Advocacy Group (NaPAG) has taken notice of the arrest of Mr. Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, the CEO of NEIP, on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) on charges of distributing money to delegates ahead of the Asante Akim Central Parliamentary primaries.

He said NaPAG finds the charges leveled against Mr. Nkansah, his arrest, and detention by the OSP as not only absurd, but a comedy of errors, and witch-hunting that is targeted at NPP government appointees on hear-say evidence that does not have any weight for a legal battle, except to a court public and media attention to cover up the Special Prosecutor’s mediocracy and ineffectiveness since the assumption of office and wasting taxpayer’s money on his huge salaries and emoluments.

NaPAG wishes to state emphatically to the OSP that, there are several cases of public interest on his desk, such as the “double salary and government officials airbus case, among others that involve the loss
of tens of thousands of United States dollars to the State that the OSP should pay serious attention to pursue and retrieve those monies to
the state, rather than to witch hunt on a wild goose chase that amounts to nothing except media attention and public comedies.

We hereby call on the OSP to immediately release Mr. Kofi Owusu Nkansah from detention. If the OSP fails to do so by close of day Thursday, January 11, 2024, NaPAG will join hands with other like-minded volunteer groups and individuals, to picket at the OSP’s offices to demand his release.
