The Minority in Parliament has demanded immediate removal of Managing Director for National Investment Bank (NIB), Samuel Sarpong in order to save the bank.
According to the Minority, Mr. Sarpong has passed his mandatory retirement age and thus should make way for fresh energy to save the bank.
The Minority has been on a crusade to stop the government from handing the NIB to ADB as a result of its precarious financial state.
Addressing the media ranking member for the Finance Committee, Isaac Adongo said his side is aware of the sleazy deals at the NIB and at the right time those involved will be made to answer.
“I am surprised that a sick bank that requires around the clock 24 hour attention by an energetic young man is being managed by an over aged man.
“We are know that when you attain 60 towards 70 in this body no matter what there will be health challenges. So do you prioritize that challenge or you prioritize the sick NIB.
“I call on the President in the interest of NIB and the national interest to sack Samuel Sarpong to go home and continue his retirement. And get a very young energetic matured man who has the energy and the drive and still has a new body to turn around the NIB,” the lawmaker stated.
