The National Health Insurance Authority, NHIA, has disbursed GH¢281.66 million in claims to health facilities across the country for services provided to members of the National Health Insurance Scheme.
The latest payment brings the Authority’s year-to-date claims payments to GH¢1.64 billion.
The NHIA says the GH¢281,658,680.79 was paid on August 25 and 27, 2026, to credentialed public, private and mission health facilities.
Public health facilities received GH¢122.73 million, representing 43.58 percent of the total amount.
Private facilities received GH¢104.5 million, representing 37.1 percent, while mission health facilities received GH¢54.42 million, representing 19.32 percent.
The Chief Executive of the NHIA, Dr Victor Asare Bampoe, says the Authority is committed to promptly reimbursing recredentialed health facilities to ensure uninterrupted and quality healthcare delivery to NHIS members.
He says the payments are necessary to enable health facilities to procure essential consumables and continue providing quality care to NHIS members.
The NHIA has therefore reaffirmed its commitment to timely claims reimbursement as part of efforts to strengthen healthcare financing and improve service delivery under the National Health Insurance Scheme.
