NDC’s Vigilance Has Exposed Corruption Under NPP – Ako Gunn

NDC’s Vigilance Has Exposed Corruption Under NPP – Ako Gunn
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Deputy Communications officer of the National Democratic congress (NDC), Mr Godwin Ako Gunn says continued vigilance by his party has exposed numerous corruption cases that has ridden the Akufo-Addo led government.

According to him, as a responsible opposition with the responsibility of keeping government on its toes, the NDC will continue to expose countless cases of corruption they have witnessed under the Akufo-Addo government in the last five years that they have been in power.

“If you look at what happened to the former Auditor General Mr. Domelovo and you ask yourself, whether this government came to power to help Ghanaians or they came to enrich themselves at the expense of the ordinary Ghanaian. Look at the botched Sputnik V deal involving the Health Minister, this is a clear case of a procurement breach, which he has to be removed, but as I speak to you, he is still at post. We have witnessed scandals under this administration, which have occasioned huge financial losses to the state and robbed Ghanaians of the developments they were promised. So far as we continue to exist as a political party, we will continue to identify and expose corrupt practices under this NPP gov’t,” he said on Plan B FM ‘Nkosuo Nsem’ with Ohene Addo

A report by the Transparency International (TI) has said Ghana has been rated as the second most corrupt country in Africa, followed by Nigeria, with South Africa perceived as the most corrupt nation on the continent.

The Corruption Perception Index (CPI) by the TI stated that about 71 per cent of people living in Ghana said corruption had increased over the last 12 months.
