NDC’s Cromwell Ansah Defends Council Of State

NDC’s Cromwell Ansah Defends Council Of State
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Cromwell Ansah, a Communication Team Member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the Kpone Katamanso Constituency, has urged Ghanaians to reject calls for scrapping the Council of State as it plays a vital role in the country’s development and shaping its future.

Speaking on Plan B FM’s Nkɔsoɔnsɛm show with host Nhyiraba Kofi Boakye, Ansah emphasised the importance of the elderly in providing valuable advice. He cited the proverb “Wonni ɔpanyin a due” (woe unto those without the elderly), highlighting the Council’s advisory role.

Ansah noted that the Council of State’s behind-the-scenes work is crucial, suggesting that their advice likely contributed to the success of developmental projects undertaken by the Mahama-led administration.

He further suggested that calls to scrap the Council might stem from the perceived poor performance of the previous Council during the regime of H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
