NDC regional office vandalised over ‘biased’ Odododiodoo parliamentary candidate vetting

NDC Set To Elect 2024 Flagbearer In November This Year

Violence erupted during the vetting of National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate aspirants for the Odododiodio Constituency in Greater Accra on Friday, October 13.

Supporters from one candidate’s camp damaged party property, including chairs and an air conditioner, and threw stones at the vetting committee, alleging unfair treatment.

The incident unfolded at the regional party office in South La, where aspirants Nii Okai Laryea, Kotey Ashie, and Michael Nii Yarboi Annang were being vetted.

The constituency, which missed the February 2023 vetting, sought a resolution before determining the candidates for the October 31 parliamentary primary.

Mr Michael Nii Yarboi Anang successfully underwent vetting and received support from supporters, emphasising his community contributions.

Some of the irate supporters told journalists the national executives of the party were being biased against their preferred aspirant.
