This follows the Speaker’s decision to adjourn the House indefinitely after NPP MPs staged a walkout on Tuesday, October 21.

Speaking on Joy FM‘s Top Story, he stated that the NDC is preparing to go to court to seek a directive to halt the NPP’s request for the Speaker to honour the recall.

In a letter addressed to the Speaker, the NPP Caucus highlighted some important government business that has to be approved.

“We respectfully request that, upon recall of the House, the following urgent government business be deliberated upon and transacted including any other business that comes before the House,” portion of the correspondence read.

Some of the significant matters listed in the letter included tax exemptions for companies under the One District One Factory Programme, Bills and the financial stability fund.

Citing the constitution and Parliament’s standing orders, the NPP Caucus noted that Speaker Bagbin is bound to recall Parliament in seven days after receiving the letter.
