The Functional Executive Council (FEC) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has summoned the Member of Parliament for Chiana-Paga, Nikyema Billa Alamzy, to appear before it for questioning the actions of the party leadership.

The lawmaker, in a widely circulated video on social media was questioning the motive behind a ‘thank you’ tour being organised the National Chairman of the party, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, in his constituency.

In the said video, the MP lamented the lack of jobs for his constituents and other pressing needs which he said required urgent attention than the ‘thank you’ tour the leadership was embarking, which he said lacked a clear-cut motive.

A statement signed by the Director of Administration for the party, Emmanuel Zumakpeh, and released on Monday, September 29, 2025, noted that the legislator was needed by the party executives to clarify the comments he made which the leadership says did not sit well with them.

“The attention of the Functional Executive Commitee (FEC) has been drawn to a widely circulated video recording from the studios of GH One TV, in which you were heard questioning the rationale for any “thank you tour” by the leadership of the Party in your constituency, as well as making other remarks which did not sit well with the leadership of the Party.

“In view of the concerns raised by your comments in the said video, you are hereby invited to appear before the Committee to provide clarification and further explanation,” the statement addressed to the MP indicated.

The statement demanded the MP to appear before the Committee with his Regional Chairman today, Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at 2pm at the party’s national headquarters.
