Political analyst and financial engineer, Alex Emmanuel Nti has described comment made by the constituency organizer of theSuame branch of National Democratic Congress (NDC) inciting members of his party to kill for power in 2024, as reckless.

Speaking on Plan-B FM’s ‘Ebaanosen’ hosted by Ohene Kinnah,  Mr. Nti said it was dangerous what the NDC man did and warned that amateurish politicians like him could plunge the country into chaos out of ignorant and dangerous comment like spewed a couple of days ago.

A viral video of the said organizer was shared on several social media platforms where he was seen and heard inciting members of the NDC party to engage in violence so as to win power in the next election. In the said video, the constituency organizer was heard stating that he personally did not see anything wrong with members of his party killing members of the  ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) just so they can with the 2024 elections.

He sought to justify his call by mentioning some incidents which he alleged happened during previous elections which have seen the NPP win. “As journalists, you were witnesses to a situation where people were shot and killed in the 2020 elections. Sostanding here today, I am to make sure that no NPP member can come and kill me. So we are in and I will advise every true NDC member that in the 2024 elections when it becomes necessary to kill someone to win, kill them; even if it requires that you shoot someone or club them to win us power do it,” he told a journalist with an Ashanti region base radio station.

Commenting further on the comments of the constituency organizer, the political analyst stated that the comments made by the constituency organizer seem to have been made because of similar incidents that were alleged to have happen with members of the NDC being victims in those incidents. “The fact he thinks or the NDC as a party feels their members were victims of previous election violence does not make it right to urge their members to go out there and kill members of NPP to win the next election is wrong”, the political analyst cum financial engineer remarked.

Continuing he mentioned that constitution of Ghana clearly spells the purpose of political parties and added that there is nowhere in the constitution where violence is mentioned apart from contributing to nation building.

Concluding, Mr. Nti condemned the comments made by the constituency organizer of Suame NDC and urged Ghanaians to shun persons who preach violence in their quest to win power. He added that Ghana is a democratic country which for sometime have always resorted to the use of the ballot box to choose its leader. He stated that Ghana is being looked at by a lot of African countries because of her credentials when it comes to election processes and urged Ghanaians to continue to remain united in that line.

In a related development, the police has announced that it has mounted a search for the Suame constituency organizer for his alleged comments ahead of the 2024 general elections.
