The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has congratulated the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on the successful and peaceful conduct of its presidential primary.

In a statement issued on February 1, 2026, the NDC commended the leadership, delegates, security agencies and all stakeholders involved for ensuring a calm, orderly and incident-free process across the country.

According to the NDC, the peaceful nature of the exercise reflects Ghana’s growing democratic maturity and reinforces the country’s reputation as a beacon of democracy in the sub-region.

The party also congratulated the winner of the primary and all contestants for their participation, urging them to put the interest of the nation above partisan considerations as the country prepares for the next phase of the electoral process.

“The NDC believes that peaceful internal party elections contribute significantly to national stability and democratic consolidation,” the statement noted.

The opposition party further called on all political actors to continue promoting tolerance, unity and respect for democratic principles as Ghana moves towards the 2028 general elections
