NDC Communicator Backs Finance Minister’s Call for Cedi-Only Transactions

NDC Communicator Backs Finance Minister’s Call for Cedi-Only Transactions
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

An NDC communicator, Klenam Wornu, has expressed strong support for the Finance Minister’s suggestion that all trading activities in Ghana should be conducted using the local currency, the cedi. According to him, this move will help maintain a stable economy and strengthen the value of the cedi against foreign currencies.

He noted that the cedi is currently showing signs of stability and urged the Ministry of Finance to establish a special task force to monitor and arrest individuals or businesses that continue to sell or buy using foreign currencies.

Klenam Wornu made these remarks while speaking on Nkosuo Nsem, emphasizing that strict enforcement of this policy will ensure economic discipline and promote confidence in the national currency.
