The Tema Metro office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) in collaboration with the Inter-Party Dialogue Committee together with Plan B 104.5 Fm organised a Parliamentary Candidates Dialogue (PCD) in Tema East Constituency.
The event under the Theme “Together We Can Build Ghana: Get Involved”.
The Parliamentary Dialogue aimed to promote peace and Civic engagement ahead of the upcoming general elections.
The Tema Metro Director of National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Madam Gifty Agyeiwaa Badu urged the candidates to use the platform to connect with voters and clarify policies, assisting citizens in making informed decisions during the elections.
The Chairperson of the Inter-Party Dialogue Committee (IPDC), Rev. Francis Guggisberg highlighted efforts to promote tolerance and peace among the youth through campaign launched in high schools within Tema Metro.
Rev. Guggisberg encouraged candidates to work hand in hand with NCCE and also consider adopting the Tema Metro office as part of their developmental agenda.
The Parliamentary Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hon. Yohane Amarh Ashitey was absent.
However, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate had the opportunity to point out his visions and policies one after the other concerning the six key areas from the survey of NCCE. The key areas: education, economy, employment, health, roads and agriculture.
Hon. Odamtten urged the constituents of Tema East to retain him in Parliament and also vote massively for John Dramani Mahama.
