Noise pollution is one of Ghana’s environmental risks and it has become the norm in metropolitan areas to the point where residents in these locations experience noise nuisance and may be at risk of hearing.

Some residents in Musuku a Suburb in the Ga East Municipal Assembly of the greater Accra region have threatened to take the law into their own hands to stop the excessive noise-making in the area which continuously disturbs their peace.

Speaking to Nana Kwame Effah a resident on Plan B FM morning show Nkosuonsem hosted by Nana Yaw Abrompah, Nana Effah explained that some pubs in the area operate on loud sound from the afternoon till dawn without considering the effect on the residents.
He stressed that some of the residents confronted the pub operators to jaw-jaw but the operator told them that, they are tenants and are doing their business and nobody could stop them.

He said, they reported the issue to the Ga East Municipal Chief executive to address the issue amicably or they would take the law into their own hands and stop the excessive noise in the area if no action is taken to resolve the matter, but according to him, the MCE told them to exercise restrain but as at now nothing has been done about it, he added.
