Members of the mobile money Agents of Ghana (MMAAG) have asked labor unions to resist any attempt by the government to pass the E-Levy.

In a statement they issued they said “we call on all employee groupings and unions whose work will be affected by the levy to rise to the occasion by drawing the government’s attention to the ills the 1.75% levy turns to introduce on SME’s “

They also extended their call to all the under listed to support the call for the government to listen to our cries thus the Bankers Association, phones Dealers Association, Spare Parts Dealers Association of Ghana, GPRTU, Car Dealers Association, Ghana Importers Association, Freight Forwarders Association, Association etc

Mr Charles kwasi Addo National PRO for the Mobile Money Agents Association Ghana in an interview with Bohyeba Afriyie on Plan B FM’s Ebanoosen revealed that they as an association have come to a realization that the E-levy fight can not be won by just an Association but need support from all other unions who operate with electronic money hence the call on all other unions to support the movement so they are able to stop the Government.

He also said that they threatened to strike last month on Authority of that they were talked through by Honorable Ursula Owusu so they thought it through thinking the Government was going to listen and attend to their Grievances.

He concluded that he is hoping that all the other union will join them to strike so the Government realizes the intensity of the issue.
